We attended a forum in Cocoa where the candidates for Sheriff and State Attorney were given an opportunity to introduce themselves as well as discuss the Trayvon Martin situation. I wrote an article for Florida Today with my thoughts on what had transpired. Even though a FL Today reporter attended the event and said that he agreed with what I had submitted, I was told that FL Today would NOT publish my article. According to the reporter, he was going to do an investigation, interview Sheriff Parker, and that he would publish his findings. We all know how "investigations" and subsequent reporting appears in their paper. Therefore, I think it is important to get the word out to all patriots so that they can see exactly what is going on in Brevard County in the race for Sheriff. Please post the article that I submitted as it appears below.
Thanks, Linda Norman
DEMOCRACY IN BREVARD?
Sunday afternoon I attended a forum in Cocoa for Brevard County Sheriff and State Attorney candidates. I was shocked and disappointed as I heard the candidates for Sheriff discuss the retribution and intimidation that they and their supporters in the department are experiencing since announcing their run for the position. After years of service, some have been relegated to the midnight shift, one had his unit dissolved, and one department employee was fired when he became the campaign manager for one of the candidates. Many in the sheriff’s office are concerned that they might lose their jobs if they support a candidate other than the one who has been handpicked by the current Sheriff who is retiring. This “selected” candidate chose not to attend Sunday’s forum; instead he attended yet another fund raising event. This big-city thuggery must stop!
Brevard voters, please do not let this “good ole boy network” continue. Get the facts and vote for the individual who will administer the office in the most efficient and effective manner. Vote for the candidate who will uphold the oath to protect and defend the citizens of Brevard County.
